Seed is found to be effective in the treatment of Diabetes mellitus and Diabetes insipidus. It reduces sugar level in blood and urine. Decreases frequency of micturition. Its fruit has digestive properties and astringent nature hence used in the treatment of indigestion, dysentery, diarrhoea and mal-absorption syndrome. Leaves have anti-emetic action. Bark is used for external application in bleeding wounds due to its astringent properties.
