Properties and Uses

It acts as an appetizer, digestive and relieves flatulence. When chewed it relieves foul smell, nausea and restores taste in mouth. It acts as local analgesic in toothache, joint pain and swelling. It is said to be effective in infected wounds due to its anti-microbial action. It has mucolytic action and is said to have some anti-tubercular contents in it. It has stimulating effect on nervous system and hence used in neuromuscular disorders with loss of functions.
